As many of you know, this is the final issue of HackAddict Magazine. HackAddict has been the longest-running underground magazine for the Macintosh, ever. We have had some high and low points, but overall, I believe this magazine was one of the best of it's kind. We explored some more advanced topics while also staying within the grasp of the not so "technical". Our mission was to provide some info to the underground Macintosh community that would otherwise not be available. Some articles were attrociously lame, while others were informative and useful. We had our bad and good issues. We really started getting going around #7 and it was really pretty good from there.
Many of you have asked me why I decided to stop publishing HackAddict. The main reason was the fact that HA is a REAL pain in the butt to get out on time every month and it suffers from lack of writing. Plus, it was getting boring and repetative. I felt that by publishing 12 issues I contributed my part to the Hackintosh community. I wanted to go down as the guy who made the best Hackintosh newsletter ever. I believe I accomplished that.
The rest of you who weren't crying over the death of HackAddict (yeah, right) were asking me why I was planning to retire at the end of this summer. Again, it is a personal decision I made because I was getting bored with the Hackintosh world. I've really done all I could do. I became one of the most respected figures in the underground Macintosh world and made a difference doing it. I provided information through my web site and this magazine that people would not otherwise have. Yes, it is a shame it has to end, but think about all the good times we had...
When I leave, different people will rise in popularity. I personally know of several aspiring hackers who will probably fill in the void I will leave. With that, I'd like to have a few shoutouts. Sorry if I left you out!!!
